Dear New Nightwing…

Re: your new look…

First, I think I liked your old one better.

Second, Starlord called and he wants his costume back.

Also, why did you look older in your first appearances in the New Krypton arc than you do at the start of your new headlining role in Action Comics?

And why was your hair a different color?

And why did you have tactile telekinesis then?

Honestly, anyone get the impression that Kon-El got switched out on the fly? It’s like that whole Dick Grayson/Jason Todd post-Infinite Crisis Nightwing thing all over again.

Maybe it’s something about the name…

RE: The new look of Nightwing

I believe the point of the new costumes was that Kryptonians were banned on Earth. As they had to track down the Phantom Zone escapees/Zod supporters, they were going to have fly and or use powers.

As some random new person flying around with Superman-like abilities doesnt usually seem out of the ordinary, having them show up in capes and tights so shortly after Kryptonians were banned would probably raise some eyebrows and be a dead give away.

With the ‘power suits’, they at least look like they are getting their powers from the suits instead of being Kryptonians.

At least, that’s how I viewed it.

I’m not reading Action Comics (or any current DC, really) but that new costume looks a lot like one of the alternate-Earth Batmans on last weeks’ The Brave and the Bold cartoon. Nifty.

Kirk – that’s a good point re hiding their Kryptonian powers. Hadn’t considered that. :)

Although that outfit still looks like a Starlord knock-off to me.

Rich – still not seen the Brave and the Bold, though I’ve heard mixed reviews!
