So SDCC is over – is it just me or were there very few announcements of note?

Anyway, this week…

Detective Comics #855 – I really liked the first issue of the new direction, and JH Williams’ artwork is amazing on the lead Batwoman feature. Cully Hamner’s Question is pretty easy on the eyes too. I’m still curious why the two lesbian and/or bisexual characters were lumped into one book though – I’d have liked Manhunter and The Question features to be swapped out.

Justice League of America
#35 – Glutton for punishment. Although I do like the look of the new Robinson/Bagley League

Justice Society of America
#29 – I dropped this a few issues back, but may hop back on to see the new Willingham/Sturges take on the book – after all, they do amazing work on Jack of Fables and House of Mystery together.

Superman
#690 – I’m still enjoying this more than Action at the moment – I guess I just have more invested in Mon-El, Steel and Guardian than in Nightwing and Flamebird.

Dark Reign Lethal Legion
#2 – First issue was a good, entertaining read – expecting more great stuff from Tieri on this.

Dark X-Men Beginning
#2 – First issue was disposable, but enjoyable. This one has the Cloak and Dagger story, I think, which is worth the price of admission alone in my book.

Fantastic Four
#569 – Finally. As long as Doom comes back and kicks his old master’s ass I’ll be happy.

New Avengers
#55 – Stuart Immonen hops on board as artist. The book’s been pretty good recently – hope it keeps it up.

Secret Warriors
#6 – The conclusion of the first arc and, barring a miracle, my last issue. Hugely disappointing./

Thunderbolts
#134 – Said it before, but this has become one unpredictable book – in a good way.

War Of Kings Ascension
#4 – Least engaging of the War of Kings crossovers, but still pretty good. I think my main issue is that I have no interest in Darkhawk.

X-Men Forever
#4 – Still a guilty pleasure. I may be enjoying this more than the rest of the Xbooks combined at the moment. Except maybe X-Force.
