Clearly still trying to adapt to the new schedule, hence the almost complete lack of posts. I think at this point I’ll aim for normality (or as close as we get round these parts) in the new year. In the meantime, it’s a relatively sedate week at the store – from a DC side, anyway…

(PS I’m playing around with product links – don’t worry about them!)

Green Lantern #49 – The war goes on; I get the impression that the GL books are more reflective of what Blackest Night was going to be before it was expanded to take on the whole DCU.

Superman #695 – I have to admit I’m enjoying this at the moment. I hope Mon-El sticks around after the big War of the Supermen next year.

Amazing Spider-Man #616 – The conclusion of a short Sandman story. Flint Marko’s always been one of my favorite villains – although i kind of preferred it when he was trying to be reform. Ah well.

Avengers The Initiative #31 – Always one of the better reads for the month, it’s a shame that the book will end soon. Hope Gage stays on the revamp.

Captain America Reborn Who Will Wield The Shield One Shot - Scheduling snafu aside, looking forward to this. Kind of hope that Bucky ends up as Cap and Steve ends up running SHIELD. Which would be appropriate, name-wise.

Fantastic Four #574 – Last issue felt rushed, but I’m warming to Hickman’s take on the team. Not many writers seem to really ‘get’ the FF (Lee, Byrne and Waid and maybe Engelhart are really the only ones that spring to mind) but so far, so good.

Guardians Of The Galaxy #21 – Permanently awesome.

Incredible Hercules #139 – Ditto – although apparently, not that permanently. I expect an adjectiveless relaunch post-cancellation.

New Avengers #60 – If there’s a book that needs a shake-up it’s this one. Bendis has been dragging his feet for months here.

Secret Warriors #11 – Aaaand I’m done.

Uncanny X-Men #519 – Never thought I’d see the day (I mean I lasted through Austen and Kelly) but this is hovering dangerously close to being dropped.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer – Willow One Shot – I’ll be picking this up but honestly, I’m not expecting too much. That’s depressing.

One Response to Rich’s Pull list – 23rd December 2009

Back in the day, I loved Englehart's run on FANTASTIC FOUR, it was a fun thrill-ride; regarding the Hickman one, I was shocked to see the FANTASTIC FORCE characters so unceremoniously dispatched re:issue 573, never read their own series but what did they do to deserve that?! Weird… Also, while I still enjoy NEW AVENGERS (it could be better, though), I'm not sure about the timeline here… either Ronin's imprisonment in THE LIST has not happened yet and it was, what?, three months ago?, or what we're reading now happens *after* the NEW AVENGERS Annual?? And the DARK AVENGERS appearance here is before or after their current arc against the Molecule Man?? I'm feeling like something is going off the rails here… Merry Christmas, btw! ;)
