Another week another comic store trip…although this week’s will be delayed for me, as we’re off back to the UK so Jack can meet his grandparents, aunts, uncles and maybe some cousins.
But I’ll be thinking of you…
GREEN LANTERN #50 – In which Hal goes mad, destroys the Corps and becomes Parallax. Wait, what?
JUSTICE LEAGUE: CRY FOR JUSTICE #6 (OF 7) – Still laughably bad, but strangely compelling. It’s like watching old people eat; it’s messy, but you can’t look away.
SUPERGIRL #49 – The death of Lana Lang. For realsies, honest.
SUPERMAN #696 – The latest chapter in the seemingly endless crossover that the Superman books have become. But Lois is front and center, so I can’t complain.
TEEN TITANS #79 – Ravager and Deathstroke vs Zombies. Sold.
AMAZING SPIDER-MAN # 619 – Last week’s return of Mysterio was pretty good, setting him up as the go-to guy for fake deaths. Also, I like what’s going on with Peter’s personal life, but that’s probably just me.
AVENGERS: THE INITIATIVE # 32 – Gage continues to wow with this book. Last issue, spotlighting Taskmaster as a man trapped by his own ambition, was great. I hope that the rumor about the Avengers Academy relaunch with Gage at the helm is true, and I hope that the cast of misfits here find a home somewhere.
CAPTAIN AMERICA: REBORN # 6 – Really? I wonder how it ends.
FANTASTIC FOUR # 575 – Okay, Hickman is officially winning me over. Although I still find buff Reed off-putting.
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY # 22 – Continually awesome. I really can’t recommend it highly enough – pick it up if you’re not already.
NEW AVENGERS # 61 – If there’s one book that could benefit from a reboot, its this. It’s been dragging for months. Time to refocus, Bendis.

*sigh* Ravager
