It’s been a nice long holiday weekend, and I still haven’t picked up last week’s books but there’s some good stuff this week, one book that I can live without and the biggest dropped title ever for me.

Green Lantern #51 – Last issue, Hal gave himself over to Parallax so he could take on the Spectre. Yeah, that’ll go well. Want to bet we don’t see Parallax in Blackest Night proper?

Green Lantern Corps #45 – Guy’s still a Red Lantern – but seeing as he’s getting his very own book, I’m guessing that he’ll be back to normal by the end of the crossover.

Justice League of America #42 – I’m surprised at how much I’m enjoying Robinson’s run on the book so far in spite of how laughably craptastic Cry for Justice is. This feels very much like an old-school superhero book right now, and I’m a sucker for team-assembling stories, even if this is dragging on a bit.

Supergirl #50 – This book stumbled right out of the blocks and failed to find its feet for, what, 30 issues? Luckily it’s been damn solid since Sterling Gates came on board. Looks like this issue may include the return of some kind of Insect Queen.

Amazing Spider-Man #621 – Black Cat and Curt Connors? Seems like old times… I’m also starting to really like Mr Negative after reading his mini in trade. The fact that his origins tie in with Cloak and Dagger’s doesn’t hurt, either.

Captain America #603 – Wondering if there’s anything in here that’s going to make Marvel nervous again…

Deadpool Merc With A Mouth #8 – Don’t start with me – this is by far the best of the Deadpool books out there even if last ish was a bit of a misstep.

Deadpool #19 – Having said that, this is pretty good too – I’m not sure how I ended up on the Deadpool bandwagon.

Doomwar #1 – I was completely down for this (because, you know, Doom) until I realised that it’s basically just a bigger Black Panther arc, and I haven’t had time for that book since the relaunch.

Guardians Of The Galaxy #23 – Still awesome. Why aren’t you reading it, again?

Incredible Hercules #141 – After the revelation that the Prince of Power relaunch will focus on Cho, not Herc, well…let’s just say that I can add another to my drop list…

Uncanny X-Men #521 – This is a pretty big deal for me and probably deserves a whole other blog entry…

Web Of Spider-Man #5 – Still disappointed in the lead features, still buying it for Spider-Girl – so I’m glad she’s getting relaunched in her own book!
