One thing that I’m really enjoying about the latest run of Action Comics is Gary Frank’s art.

Frank’s been a favorite of mine since his run on Incredible Hulk way back when, but it was his relatively short run with Peter David launching the last Supergirl book that really sticks in my mind.
That’s at least one reason that I really like the current Action arc – sure, the Brainiac thing is okay as I never really got all the variations of the character anyway, but it’s Gary Frank drawing Supergirl. And that should be enough for you.

She’s still got a belly shirt and a really short skirt but damned if she doesn’t at least look a little younger than most other artists tend to draw her.

Oh, and this interaction with Cat Grant?

Priceless and clearly an early shoe-in for the long dormant page of the week.

Don’t worry, I’m not sticking a donation button on the side bar or anything like that…

When I started this blog two years and about a week ago (can’t believe that I missed my blogoversary, dammit) I’d stopped posting over at Paperback Reader and missed having that outlet – so I started this blog. I wasn’t too sure what I wanted to do with it but basically I missed having somewhere to sound off.

I’ve been pretty lucky since then, I think. I’ve met some good people through the blog; mainly online but a couple in person and that more than makes it worth it. The bloggers that I really like – such as Val, Nick, Mike, Johnny, Melissa, Gordon, Stephen, David and Mike to name just a few off the top of my head – and everyone who reads and comments on this blog and theirs really make this odd little blogger community a friendly (most of the time, anyway!), interesting place.

Lately though I’ve been wondering what I’m actually doing with the blog. I restarted posting on Paperback Reader but stopped that again a few months ago because I couldn’t help but feel that I didn’t have anything to say that I don’t say here. This week I turned down a great opportunity to reach a wider audience, mainly because I wasn’t sure of what I could bring to it and I wasn’t sure that I could bring it on a regular basis and didn’t want to let anyone down by overcommitting.

I feel like I still have things to say but right now I’m finding it harder and harder to do so with a positive attitude. I’m invariably snarky and negative when I talk about books I’m getting or books I’ve read and that’s not what I want. I like comics; I love comics – and I don’t want to be negative about them all the time.

Maybe I need a little more structure to the blog – maybe regular features or something? I have my ‘…of the week‘ and the ‘Pull list‘ but do I need something else?

Whatever, I think I need some help and advice. You stop by (and hopefully you come back) so what do you like seeing?

If you have any suggestions, recommendations or criticisms, let me know – you might just save my blog!
